Death and Taxes
So I sat down last night with my W-2s and my 10-99s. With laptop in hand a great bottle of 20 year scotch, I attempted my federal and state income tax return. I had never filed state taxes so this was going to be something new. I dont mind taxes, people complain about them all the time. Probably what people complain about the most, why; its the price we pay to be civilized. Pay the taxes and go on. Anyway back to my story, while filing my taxes on a well known website, it has "what to dos" or "what to dont." I loved the questions and answers, CAUSE YOU KNOW THESE MISTAKES HAPPENED. What do I do if i misspelled my last name was the first helper question? Let me give you some advice, if you dont know your last name. Just dont do your taxes, go to walmart. give some h and r block 1st year accountant count your money or lack their of. Not sure why i thought that was funny but it was. My tax returns were fine and i get money back which is always a good thing. havent decided what i want. cause you know i just buy toys, no need to save for things like a house or something. To this "death and taxes"

You got to love those years where the government feels sorry for you, pats you on the back and hands back everything you've paid in.
We are hoping to someday claim the cats as deductions. Maybe if we figure out a way to send Libby to college. I think she would end up being a mad scientist. Cleo would just party all the time. Boo would end up sleeping all day and missing classes. Sammy would be the typical returning octegenarian who takes everything too seriously. Tilly would end up going to community college. Not sure why your taxes made me think of my cats in college, but there you go. It makes sense to me.
The price we pay to be civilized...Huh! After 3 years in an older community (founded in 1608 so they've had more practice at politics and taxation), paying outrageous tax amounts and watching an ever increasing crime rate, I got to question "Who's minding the store?"
Oops! No one is minding the store they're to busy scheming on how to increase the taxes so we can have more museums, skate rinks, coliseum venues and bigger, newer malls to worry about education, roadways and public safety. Except for those dangerous bicyclists. Not to worry though, Allen Iverson just donated 100,000 for a gun buy back program in Newport News (nice to see he's reformed...seriously, not picking on him) and Michael Vick is going to do public service messages for the SPCA as part of his punishment We seem to have more emphasis on animal treatment here than the mistreatment of children. Maybe we should let the cats take over.
